New plan takes shape

OREWA'S Kensington Park has released its new modified
masterplan for the development.
Residents and neighbours have been consulted during the planning
process. Compared to the previous owners' plan to build 820 homes on
the 12.7 hectare property, the newly proposed master plan allows for
a lot less, with a maximum of 690 in total enabling more green
space. These will be a mix of one to four-bedroom homes and
accommodation types, between two and five storeys.

‘Bush carpenters’ come up trumps with Eaves

Construction of a boardwalk designed to protect the health of an
800-year old kauri tree in Eaves Bush will be completed this week,
several days ahead of schedule.
Dozens of volunteers assisted with the work, carrying timber to the
site, clearing the route, digging and placing posts as well as
building the 25 metre-long boardwalk..

Kensington back on track

Kensington Park has started to fulfil its promises to residents with
the opening of the pool house complex, playground, walkway and new
apartments.
The park in north Orewa was bought from receivers by Southpark
Corporation last year and the new owners quickly set about making
good on finishing projects that were promised to residents by the
previous owners. .

The Orewa Millennium Walkway bridge over the Nukumea Stream will be reopened by Kensington Park Holdings tomorrow.
The walkway and bridge linking Eaves Bush was closed for two years while Kensington was a construction zone.
To enable the community to continue using the walkway, Kensington Park have set up temporary fencing from the reserve through Kensington Park, which will be upgraded as the residential development is completed, along Eaves Bush parade.

Orewa Millennium Walkway has now re-opened
through Kensington Park

In Association with the Eaves Bush Appreciation Group and Rodney
District Council, Kensington Park is pleased to announce the Orewa
Millennium Walkway has now re-opened through Kensington Park. In
addition, these groups have just completed extensive track
improvements within the Alice Eaves native bush reserve to help
protect the 800 year old hollow Kauri tree..

Bellamy busy talking and planting Kauri

British botanist and environmental campaigner David Bellamy planted
a kauri tree in Orewa to celebrate the beginning of Conservation
Week on Monday.
Dr Bellamy helped plant one of three kauri on the Frank Mackereth
Reserve in Kensington Park where the Millennium Walkway will pass
